Primers | Vallejo — acrylic and spray primers for a perfect base

Available formats and colours

• 60 ml bottle (water-based acrylic, non-flammable): White 73600, Grey 73601, Black 73602.
• 400 ml spray (solvent-based, fast-drying): White 28010, Grey 28011, Black 28012.

How to choose your primer colour

• White: maximises brightness and vivid colours.
• Grey: a versatile option for mid-tones and value control.
• Black: ideal for metallics, dark schemes and pre-shading.

Recommended application

1. Prep the surface (light sanding and putty if needed) with sandpaper and putty. Degrease before priming.
2. Airbrush/brush (60 ml bottle): dilute if needed with Auxiliary Products | Vallejo (Airbrush Thinner 71161 / 71261) and work at 15–20 PSI. Clean with Airbrush Cleaner 71199.
3. Spray (400 ml can): shake well for 1 minute and apply thin coats from 20–30 cm. Use masking tape for clean edges and ventilate your work area.
4. Let it dry and continue with your Model Color or Game Color. Finish with varnishes for the look you want.
