Wash FX | Vallejo — acrylic washes for shading and filters

Wash FX Vallejo are highly fluid, water-based acrylic washes, perfect for bringing out panels, rivets and folds without covering up detail. They work with a brush and airbrush, dry fast and come in a dropper bottle (18 ml) for precise dosing.

Standout Wash FX colours

  • Black 73201 — panel lines, deep shadows and contrast on metallics.
  • Sepia 73200 — warm ageing on skin, leather and wood.

Quick usage guide

  1. Prime the piece and, for crisp panel lining, apply gloss varnish before the wash.
  2. Shake the bottle well, put a drop on the palette and dilute if you want a subtler effect.
  3. Apply by capillary action into panel lines or as a very diluted filter over surfaces.
  4. Remove excess with a damp brush; let dry and seal with the varnish of your choice.

FAQ

Can Wash FX Vallejo be used with an airbrush?Yes. Dilute with Airbrush Thinner 71161 or 71261 to a "skimmed milk" consistency.
Do they leave marks on matte finishes?On surfaces varnished in gloss, it flows better by capillary action and excess is easier to clean up. Seal at the end with your preferred varnish.
