Wash FX | Vallejo — acrylic washes for shading and filters
Wash FX Vallejo are highly fluid, water-based acrylic washes, perfect for bringing out panels, rivets and folds without covering up detail. They work with a brush and airbrush, dry fast and come in a dropper bottle (18 ml) for precise dosing.Standout Wash FX colours
- Black 73201 — panel lines, deep shadows and contrast on metallics.
- Sepia 73200 — warm ageing on skin, leather and wood.
- Blue 73207 — cool tones on steel, armour and blue fabrics.
- Violet 73209 — "fantasy" shadows and gems.
- Flesh 73204 — defines folds on faces and anatomy.
- Yellow 73208 — light rust and warm powder tones.
Combine your Wash FX with Vallejo auxiliaries
- Airbrush Thinner 71161 or Thinner 71261 — improves capillary flow and airbrush control.
- Airbrush Cleaner 71199 — cleans your equipment after washes.
- Medium Xpress 72448 — for quick glazes and translucent effects.
- Vallejo auxiliary products — thinners, retarders, mediums and more.
Before and after the wash
- Primer — an even base and better adhesion.
- Varnishes — gloss for "capillary action" and matte/ultra-matte to seal the finish.
Recommended accessories
- Brushes — fine tip for outlining and panel lining.
- Airbrushing — thin coats and even filters.
- Masking tape — clean edges with no bleed-through.
Quick usage guide
- Prime the piece and, for crisp panel lining, apply gloss varnish before the wash.
- Shake the bottle well, put a drop on the palette and dilute if you want a subtler effect.
- Apply by capillary action into panel lines or as a very diluted filter over surfaces.
- Remove excess with a damp brush; let dry and seal with the varnish of your choice.
