Rust Vallejo 73117: fresh orange rust and realistic streaking

Extra-fine powder pigment designed for orange rust, active corrosion and rust deposits with natural finishes. Its intense orange tone reproduces fresh rust and adds strong contrast over metallic and painted surfaces. The fine grain size allows smooth glazes and transitions on metal, plastic or resin, and its non-flammable nature makes it safe for indoor use. The 35 ml jar will last for many weathering projects and dries without unwanted shine.

For dry application, place the pigment with a soft brush wherever rust would appear by gravity or streaking (under rivets, along weld seams, on joints and edges). Blend with a clean brush to soften panels or to create rust streaks and oxidation halos. If you want light fixation without losing texture, touch the pigment with a brush dampened in pigment fixer/binder; for more volume, mix it with binder to obtain a paste and build crusts and raised rust build-ups. Compatible with water, acrylics and varnishes; clean tools with water and soap.

Suggested uses: on industrial and military vehicles and machinery it creates fresh rust on bolts, weld beads, grills and chassis; on ships, bridges, wagons and containers it simulates orange rust streaks and corroded plates; in urban and post-industrial dioramas it adds rust patinas over fences, railings, tanks and pipes. For extra realism, alternate with layers of brown/red rust tones and dark grime, sealing when needed to preserve the stratified weathering effect.
