Description
Old Rust Vallejo 73120: aged corrosion and realistic brown-red patinas
Extra-fine powder pigment designed for old rust, dark rust and settled corrosion deposits with natural finishes. Its desaturated brown-red tone reproduces aged rust (less orange than fresh rust) and adds depth to metal surfaces. The fine grain size allows smooth glazes and transitions over metal, plastic or resin, and its non-flammable nature makes it safe to use indoors. The 35 ml jar will last for many weathering projects and dries without unwanted shine.
For dry application, place the pigment with a soft brush wherever it would naturally build up by gravity (horizontal surfaces, recesses, rivets, joints and weld seams). Blend with a clean brush to soften panels or draw subtle rust streaks. If you want light fixation without losing texture, touch the pigment with a brush dampened in pigment fixer/binder; for more volume, mix it with binder to obtain a paste and create crusts and corroded areas. Compatible with water, acrylics and varnishes; clean tools with water and soap.
