Description
Dark Slate Grey Vallejo 73114: deep grey dust, stone and aged asphalt effects
Extra-fine powder pigment designed for dark grey dust, mineral deposits and slate stone with realistic finishes. Its anthracite grey tone adds strong contrast on light surfaces and reinforces urban/industrial wear in cold or humid climates. The fine grain size makes it easy to apply glazes and smooth transitions over metal, plastic or resin, and its non-flammable nature allows safe indoor use. The 35 ml jar is enough for multiple weathering projects and dries without unwanted shine.
For dry application, place the pigment with a soft brush wherever it would naturally settle by gravity (horizontal surfaces, recesses, tracks and running gear). Blend with a clean brush to soften panels or break up uniform areas. If you want light fixation without losing texture, touch the pigment with a brush dampened in pigment fixer/binder; for extra volume, mix it with binder to obtain a paste and create crusts and build-ups. Compatible with water, acrylics and varnishes; clean tools with water and soap.

Suggested uses: on urban and industrial vehicles it creates dark grey dusting over undersides, chassis and rims; in city, factory, mining or ruin dioramas it simulates aged cement/concrete, asphalt and dark rubble; in winter scenes it adds cold, dirty dust over asphalt, kerbs and slate tiles and stone. Alternate layers with Light Slate Grey, blacks and other greys, sealing when needed to preserve the stratified weathering effect.
